Šiauliai University – classical type higher education institution located in the Northern region of Lithuania. Founded in 1997 by uniting Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute and Šiauliai Polytechnic Faculty of Kaunas University of Technology.

The university has:

8 faculties: Arts, Education, Humanities, Mathematics and Informatics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Welfare and Disability Studies, Technology and Continuing Studies Institute.

Studies are organised into 3 cycles: first cycle – Bachelor's degree, second cycle – Special Professionals studies and Master's degree studies, third cycle – Doctoral.

Bachelor's: Business Administration, Economics, Buisness Economics, English Philology and other foreign language (Spanish, French, German), Informatics Engineering.
Master's: Signal Processing, Intercultural Education and Mediation, Electrical Power, Informatics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Arts (Design, Graphics, Painting, Leather), Studies of Culture, Literary Criticism, Career Education, Music Pedagogy, Management (Specialisations: Tourism Management; Public Administration), Economics (Specialisations: Economics Analysis and Planning; Finances and Banking).

Every faculty of Šiauliai University offers one year programme for incoming ERASMUS students and for students from partner institutions http://www.su.lt/en/studies/exchange-programmes2.

The University operates the following research centres: Gender Studies, Biological Research, Educational Researches, Energy and Environmentally Clean Technologies, Modelling of Physical Processes, Natural Science Education, Public Health, Social Research, Special Education, Technological Experiments, Biomedical Engineering, Art. There is European Studies Institute at the University as well.

The researchers and the staff are running and have participated in such international projects as VI and VII Framework, LLP: LEONARDO DA VINCI, ERASMUS, COMENIUS, GRUNDVIG and others, EUREKA, EQUAL, INTERREG, LAT-LIT EU Structural funds and other EC projects.

Šiauliai University has over 140 agreements with foreign higher education institutions from 40 countries all over the World. University successfully participates in various activities of LLP / ERASMUS programmes: exchange of students and lecturers, ECTS adjustment, intensive programmes and European networks.

Students' Organisations: ESN 'Erasmus Students network', Students' Club, the Students Representation, members of International Association of Students Economists and Managers (AISEC), Mentor programme.
