Originally the Faculty of Technology of Siauliai University was a part-time Faculty of Kaunas Polytechnical Institute, established in 1959. The Faculty of Technology has 67 lecturers, including nine professors with doctor degree and 21 associate professors. Over 1000 students are studying in the Faculty. The Departments offer full-time, part-time, and extramural courses for bachelor's degree and full-time course for master's degree. The researchers of the Faculty of Technology conduct work in several areas. The bulk of the research work is related to biomedical engineering and environmental areas. In 1998, two research centres started the work in the Faculty of Technology: the Centre of Biomedical Engineering and the Centre of Energy and Environmental Clean Technologies. In 2002 the Faculty together with joint-stock company "Baltik Vairas" founded the Centre of Technological Experiments. |
